These ceramic works explore the quiet tension between presence and absence, permanence and decay, within the human form.
I am drawn to the meditative body—eyes closed, head bowed, shoulders softened—as a vessel for stillness. The seated figures and isolated heads hold a private interiority; their closed eyes suggest not sleep, but a deliberate turning inward. The crackle glaze that covers many of the surfaces functions as both skin and timeline. Each fine network of fissures records the stresses of firing, the slow settling of the clay, and the inevitable marks that time leaves on living flesh. What begins as a smooth, contemplative surface becomes a map of endurance and vulnerability.
